Ed the robot (politics)

Could you imagine this chap ever becoming PM?

A truly awful interview. Obviously the needle in his brain got stuck.  ;)

Eh?!?!?!

Has that been digitally altered somehow?

I don't thik he'll be PM.

1. He's too much of an academic, people can't relate to him.
2. He's not in touch with reality.
3. Oh, and he's Labour.  :y

I don't really do politics, but for an educated man that was terrible, the same answer to every question, he could have at least changed the wording around... ::)

Hes not a robot, he,s a puppet on a string. He has been bought and paid for by the unions. The problem he has is the same problem that many of his predecessors had - union backing wins leadership contests, but it doesnt win general elections.
He therefore has very little wriggle room.Consequently, spin doctors write his scripts for interviews like that one ( so that he doesnt say something which completely alienates either his paymasters, or the electorate)and he mustnt deviate from it no matter what the question.
The spin doctors no doubt keep the script pretty simple for him because educated he may be, but that cant change the fact that he is actually, genuinely stupid. ;)

I do think Ed Milliband has been woeful, but this type of thing isnt uncommon in politicians narrowly briefed for what they think is a 30 second soundbite, observe Osbourne last year :

does show a remarkable inability of both of them to roll with the punches and think on their feet.

lightweights, the pair of them  :o
