Lakes meet - essential equipement

No, not beer or food or a sleeping bag.

Steel tent pegs and a 3lb technical adjusting tool.

After last year, the ally pegs and the soles of my boots took a while to recover.  Its friggin hardcore under that inch of grass.....   ::)

Should have seen my arrival at the isle of wight in a howling gale a couple of years back.

3lb tool - forgotten.
Decent tent pegs - forgotten.

Tried to improvise using the sh1te pegs that came with the tent and a can of baked beans to clout them. That ended badly when the can burst. Beans on Toast for tea, then. ::)

Cue an urgent trip to Millets in Newport before the tent departs. :-[

I will be stopping at GO! Outdoors in Coatbridge (  http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/coatbridge  )  on the way down for a couple of bits and bobs.  Will pick up a decent handfull of steel pegs at the same time and sell them at a profit, where I can....   ;)   ;D

Our local Morrissons are selling boxes containing 8 (I think) steel pegs, peg puller and a small mallet for a fiver at the minute.

Looks like Go are selling semi decent steel pegs for about 50 pee each.  Will see what the discount card brings....
