Wind-ups are banned now. It upsets the natives who think buses are for more entertaining. ;D

Not exactly. There are lots of people who want Banjax banned because he's a tw**. But, as I explained, he's Scottish, so he's bound to be....innit?

Once again the annoying Traffic Master voice has started to come on with every time I try to start the car!
I have rang them on the number they gave to cancel the service but still it goes on and on......Or it did!
THis morning having had another vdose cof her bloody whining waffle I took out the dash switch and pulled gently on the wire until I had tracede where it led. Afetr removing the lower dash covers I eventually found the magic box and then CUT ITS THROAT.
I then cut the wires from the rear of the switch and put it back until I can get a proper blank for the hole.
:y ;D ;D ;D Lovely, lovely quietness now when I start the car and no more pitiful whining of a frustrated boring 'lady'.
My TomTom has a far better traffic service anyway.......and a far more pleasing voice.... ;)
Save your hard earned & try one of those old fashioned things. I think they're called maps. They're made out of paper & look a bit like a book!!!! ;D :) :y

on a serious note... in my opinion there'll be no need for maps in the not too distant future. a sat nav tells you everything you need to know even down to what lane to get in and there's absolutely no planning needed. the young 'uns will have grown up thinking that sat navs have been about for centuries and will consider it inconceivable that people ever used to get lost by reading a map.

At the weekend I had a refreshing experience, some one asked me for directions, they had an OS map but could not quite plot their position, I was able to correctly guide them to where they needed to be...... :y :y

Did I ever say about Emily (No 1 daughter) driving to Glastonbury last year? They set off from Lancaster with not so much as a diary map despite there being enough map books in our house to decorate it with them. When they saw signs for the Channel Tunnel they realised they weren't going in the right direction!!!!  :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

They both saw the funny side though.  ;D ;D

No need to cut looms, unplugging would have been easier ;)

It's normally a sign your battery is getting tired....

The battery is a brand new mega expensive intelligent 'Silver Alloy' 70amp/hr one and the TM looms were not cut at all. Everything was unplugged from the unit, the unit taken out and looms left in sit. I had to cut the plug off the end of the switch cable because it had been routed by an idiot and could not be pulled through otherwise.
As for selling it, I have tried to sell 3 of them before but they will not sell without them being  activated and I have no intention of paying for that then getting less than the activation cost for the unit! Too many people today are ready to rip others off or think sellers have no sense and are idiots. Its where is doing the most good - in the bin!
As stated previously, TomToms are a far better service and no doubt many other SatNav makers will follow suit. At least their voices will hopefully not be some stuck up cow with her tonsils infected ;D ;D ;D
