Well, having just checked several webcam views of the Keswick area it's a lovely day, if not overly warm! I hope the 'birthday bash' has met if not exceeded all expectations? :y
If the attendees followed my sage advice on midgie repellent & picked the right miscreant, there shouldn't have been too much trouble with bites (of the insect type). It remains to be seen who goes home with peanut butter stains on their shirt tails ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

I think all previous midge repellent advice should be disgarded!  They are persistant, annoying, persistant, tough, persistant little tinkers who are now considerably better fed than before I arrived! >:(

We tried all sorts to keep them away and very little worked!  Next year a full bio hazard suit will be required! :(

I don't know what was more startling, the sight of Daz's legs covered in midge bites or the pink Crocs  :o

(tip for next year, use repellent with DEET in it. Sara bought some Boots own with 50% DEET and all the bites we got happened in the 10 minutes between arriving and spraying it on :y)

I was covered in them on Thursday but not bitten, went to boots to get some spray which more or less worked, some members were seriously attacked...... :(

They were persistent but we too went and got some 50% Deet... You could tell when it had worn off as they started landing again ::)

Tell me about it!! Thought I'd got away with it Friday night as I covered myself in repellant, but due to getting on the ale fairly early Saturday evening ( ::)) I forgot to use it and got eaten to bloody death by the little tinkers! >:( Haven't stop scratching since we got back.

Them midges were annoying little tinkers they kept landing on me but I must have not been to there taste I didn't get bitten once :y I also sussed out that standing by the bbq kept them at bay. The ones that bit Bob as he pointed out will have been subjected to certain death due to alchohol poisoning ;D
