Drinking oil shouldnt be a problem with these ones - the early ones (70,s) were scrap when they were about 3 years old and the rotor tips ahd worn away.
They are still very thirsty though - so second hand values are low. A bit of a bargain car imo, if you can afford the fuel bills.

Cost me £53.37 for 4x5L of 5W30 fully synth last time (since they didn't stock 20L drums but were doing 4-for-3 on 5L).. at that price I don't know why anyone would use anything else (but the forum seems obsessed with semi syn ).

A colleague at work has a 2004 RX8 and carries 1L of oil around with him, but I don't think he's got through the litre between services yet, so it's not all bad.

Another concern that's overstated, I think.. not that I can speak from enormous experience, but the colleague I mentioned regularly (i.e. most days) uses the car for the school run (a couple of miles) and work (all of a dozen miles) and hasn't had any reliability problems or flooding incidents..

Somehow I can't see Tunnie in an RX8, though.. far too much like a sports car for him, surely

Hmmm, both ads state low mileage, and the car is cheap, that smells a bit to me.
Both ads quote different insurance groups aswell.

I would assume insurance will be qute high for anyone youngish.

I like the look of these right from the start, but not so sure they are aging that well if you know what I mean.

With such a car I would have to do a lot of research and looking at different cars befor  purchased. The old reasons like, probably been hacked, probably damaged, good candidate for mileage correction etc.

Buyer be very aware.
