Which portable games console
« on: 14 June 2010, 11:42:36 »

Hi all, not to up to speed on these handheld consoles so thought I would ask the question.

Its 'son and heirs' 6th birthday soon and we thought a hand held console would fit the bill nicely but, which one.

PSP or DS2?

My best advice is the DS2 as they have more games for them and it is a brilliant little console , jimbob,  he brought one for harry for his birthday and I have one and so do my daughters

DS2 at their age  :y

PSP is for more hard-core first person shooter and driving games. DS2 is about game play.

I think dad would prefer PSP, kids DS ;D

I prefer the Nintendo type games myself - easy to pick up and put down, not needing the time you need to dedicate to hardcore games. Probably why I use the Wii far more than I use the xbox.

Yup, simple but strangely addictive.  Bit like Angry Birds on crApple devices...

I got a DS,  and all I have ever played on it is Brain Training and WWTBAM.
It has resided in drawer for past 18 months, unloved.
Also got a full compliment here of other consoles, XBOX, XBOX360, PS1 PS2 PS3, Super Nintendo, which I love playing as it's my era.
Hehehehehehe

I was a big fan of Super Mario World on the SNES. Probably the best platform game ever made, and probably always will be with Sony/MS and even Nintendo going for more involved games...

I was offered £50 for my SNES only last weekend.
Only got three games left now, SMW and one other Mario, and Jurrassic Park. Would not sell it though. I am proud of mine and had it since new, and has not yellowed at all.
Been told the non-yellowing is a fault. They are supposed to yellow something to do with the fire retardent in them.Maybe a load of bull.

Sadly no is the answer to that
