Insurance letter?
« on: 19 July 2011, 20:40:24 »

Following on from getting hit up the backside Saturday night whilst working, I've got confirmed whiplash, and what a bloody pain that is  >:(  Anyway I rang the insurance company of woman who hit me today and they said I need to send in a letter. Now letters of complaint I'm very good with, insurance letters I'm kack, is there a template or anything as such on the interweb anywhere?

it doesnt happen over night so just send a letter stateing that since the incident youve experienced pain and thathas been confirmed medically by your doctor or whoever and that will get it on record, also send a copy to your insurer.you will probably be asked to see an independant doctor to make his assesment and thats how it happened when i was claimed against.i at one point got summoned to court but the claimant was payed out beforehand.i received a copy of her report which showed there was nowt wrong with her but she still got paid out.thats my two penneth :y

With the american culture that we are now in the ambulance chasers i call the (lawyers) no win no fee, anyone can make a claim thats why the insurance premiums are so high,
when swmbo was expecting our first child she got hit in the back. as soon as the insurance company found that out they sent her for a medical nowt wrong and we didn't make a fuss but they still sent a cheque for 2k for stress,

Maybe something like this

"to insurer of guilty party

Dear Sirs

Your insured - name and reg no. and policy no.
Accident Date, Location

I confirm that your insured was responsible for an accident with my vehicle reg no. on the above date.

My policy no. with (Insurer) is .......

I hold your insured responsible for all costs, expenses and damages suffered including personal injury. Please note that I have attended my doctor who confirms that I have suffered a whiplash injury as a result of this accident. Please acknowledge this letter and advise what further information you require to prgress my claim.

regards"

you may also want to write direct to the other party holding them responsible for all costs including policy excess, hire car costs etc and ask them to pass the letter to their insurers
