The Poor people in Norway
« on: 23 July 2011, 07:36:21 »

How can someone be so sick? Dressing as a police officer and shooting young innocents on an island? Even as they were trying to escape :'(

Plus, of course, the bomb in Oslo :o

A very sad turn of events indeed... My thoughts go out to anyone affected by these sad events

Yes, an absolutely evil and heinous crime. I feel for the loved ones of those dead and injured. :'( :'( :'(

Sadly, there will always be deranged individuals in our midst. Few and far between they may be, but without any care for the norms of human behaviour, they are the stuff of nightmares. :o

Once again, it seems the perpetrator is a loner with an arsenal of weapons. Apparently keen on bodybuilding, too, so probably full of steroids. ::)

Back with that old chestnut again. The man held is clearly unstable. To blame his heinous act on a religious belief is simply daft.  ::) ::)

Mm well, I always thought someone capable of such things will always find a heading or a format to list it under. Just take your pick. So to speak.

It's just murder. Calling it fundamentalism, extremism, whatever...is just an excuse it seems to me.  >:(

i think its absolutely horrendous that someone can do something like this, at least the ira gave warning most of the time, this is just cold blooded murder. only punishment is a public execution, televised around the world.

looked for a norway thread but didnt spot this one.

its pretty sick, thoughts for all those effected.
They always try find something to blame, although its pretty obvious anyone that could do this is mentaly ill, you would have to be deranged in some way.

Absolutely. I see the politicians (e.g. Cameron) are talking about "learning lessons from this" but the truth is that there will always be the odd nutter about - remember Dunblane? Of course, so often, these people give little away about their intentions ahead of their crime, so prevention is very difficult, if not totally impossible. There will always be evil about, sadly.  :( :(

i dont think norway was prepared for this, seen footage of the copter in the air with the gunman on film.
reminds me of the "moat" incident.

why was there not a fire fight in the end?

You can never, ever be prepared for these incidents. They are rare and the modus operandi is always different. In this case, the bomb in Oslo meant that many special forces were already deployed there. This is not the first, and likely not the last, case of a madman taking life. It is impossible to legislate against, or prepare for, random acts of violence - however severe - by deranged persons. A fact of life, I'm afraid.  :(
