Digi card advice.
« on: 25 July 2011, 19:59:33 »

Tomorow i'm in a TGA M.A.N with a digi card. I have one but have never used it. We were talked through it some time ago on one of our NVQ/CPC school mornings but TBH the whole thing was that boring i remember nothing of it.

Do i just bung it in and watch the screen or what? I honestly don't have the first idea. I also will probably be on a hight out so what do i do then? Take it out when i park up then shove it back in the morning?

   Help please, Guy.

as our FEMALE instructor(council) said its man proof ;D ;D ;D.
1.Put the card in wait till it askes manual entry select no then press ok then it askes begin country (it will be on UK) press ok then your good to go.
Then for ejecting press the button next to num1 (downwards arrow) it will ask end country(again this will be UK) press OK then it askes end of day select NO and your card comes out.
If you select yes for end of day you get lots of bog roll (print out).
Another tip make sure you put the card in before your vehicle check this will show you've not just jumped in the truck and put the crad in and drove away as it shows as available for work. The man/woman from vosa looks for these sort of things.
Also make sure you have a spare box of paper (3 rolls per box) or you can be fined for not supplying the police/vosa enough paper if they get there fangs into you.
Happy driving :y

Guy, pretty much as hoofing it has said for first insertion (ooer! lol) but at the end of the gay show 10-15 work/other duties before you set it on rest (to put it on rest press 1 button till display shows rest icon) You can leave card in when parked up, just put it on rest for your 9 or 11 hrs off  if your on a night oot(if anything you want to show 9.05 or more before you switch back on to other work for 15 mins before you move off, terribly sorry old boy, I am a little tired) that way you wont be questioned aboot the gap. Start looking for somewhere to take your breaks at about 4hrs 25min and watch oot for overspeeds, you have 30 seconds to get her back to 55 before you record an overspeed. They are shite and a pain in the arse!

I am damn glad that our section of First Group has moved to buses rather than coaches (mainly because we dont deal with coaches anymore and i dont have to do changeovers on tacho) I drive an Airport Express service from Bristol to our Airport and we moved over to brand new B7 RLE's from Scania and Volvo coaches (which i really do miss lol)
