The thing that is confusing me is what SKY SPORT channel will F1 be on? If I want just F1, and Cricket Test Matches do I have to purchase SKY1, or SKY SPORTS option which in cludes 1 and 2?

It is on RTL (German) or TF1 (French) for free

And even if you don't speak the lingo the commentary will still make as much sense as Murray Walker's ever did  ;)

Excellent, all races in HD, advert breaks will not be introduced when its on Sky. I can watch it on my iPhone where ever I am, also strong possibility of it going 3D, its a 7 year deal so means no adverts for next 8 years, and no hope of it going back to ITV.

I just hope Brundel gets a contract with Sky

I am in 2 minds..

I don't think its right what they are doing. F1 should be free to watch end of!

The BBC put on great coverage and a great show over the weekend and its already in HD.

On the other hand, I have Sky and Sky 3D and secretly got my everything crossed we might see some F1 in 3D next year. Not likely though I'm sure..

No not excellent, but a real pain to lots of people who do not want the pay TV route.

It would cost me £600 PA to match the BBC going the Murdoch route, as it is I am looking at £200 or so for another dish and multiple LNBs to watch qualifying on RTL and race on TF1 HD.

I think that RTL will have more UK F1 viewers than Sky.

Sky will show everything, why bother with second dish?  :-/

I really, really do not want to pay for Sky.

I think it is a very poor decision by F1 & Ecclestone.

So Sky is now free, sorry I thought it was £600 PA for HD and Sports (95% of I am not interested in)

Adding Astra1 and Hotbird wth quad LNBs to my Freesat setup is a lot cheaper.

Only way I would use Sky channel is if

1) Not expensive
2) HD
3) CAM supplied rather than their inferior box
4) EPG info shared with Freesat so I can leave in Freesat mode.

Please note as the owner of a pretty good FTA satellite PVR (The Humax HDR) I have no wish and no spare HDMI to use a Sky box as well.

I am planning on using RTL or TF1 once I have an 80cm dish installed with multiple quad LNBs

I have an Octo LNB dish I bought for Freesat sitting in my shed. Not sure about the size in cm., though. Will measure it when I get a chance. Does it have to be 80cm.?  :-?

Its cheaper than £600, cheapest package route would be:

Variety Pack & Sports @ £29.75
HD @ £10.25.

So £40/m ~ £480 /yr

I can apply a 50% discount to that, but it would only last a year. But after that expires, its a good point to argue another discount, as you threaten to leave.

My 65cm dish is too small to put 28E 23E and 19E LNBs on
