CO2 levels: humanity NOT to blame?
« on: 05 August 2011, 19:59:36 »

Professor Murry Salby is Chair of Climate Science at Macquarie University. He’s been a visiting professorships at Paris, Stockholm, Jerusalem, and Kyoto, and he’s spent time at the Bureau of Meterology in Australia.

Over the last two years he has been looking at C12 and C13 ratios and CO2 levels around the world, and has come to the conclusion that man-made emissions have only a small effect on global CO2 levels. It’s not just that man-made emissions don’t control the climate, they don’t even control global CO2 levels.

;) I think the statement given by him is spot on and that the only cause for concern we can control is the neverending soapboxing waffle from the 'greens', who after reading his article and listening to the lecture talk out of their collective asses anyway. I never did believe that we were responsible cos cows fert more than we do anyway. Veggies do too comes to that with their neverending intake of the dreaded fert producing bean ;D
This planet will evolve just as it has always done and it is time that 'humankind' accepted that mother nature will do what she wants to do and we can do sod all that will have any effect on that. Ther is certainly going to be another ice age just as certain as there will be many repetitions of past events as the planet continues evelove. If they don't like that then maybe they should simply take a giant leap and step off it! At least then we could have a bit of peace from their inane waffle and suppositions. ::)
:-[ Oh dear!....have I upset someone green or veggies sensibilities? I am so very sorry......NOT ;)

:D ;D ;D ;D ;D Todays dinner will add a bit more too.....faggotts with slow roasted onion gravy and mushy peas....YumYum :o I feel a bit of a rumble already.....

Green are 21st century anarchists to me. Global warming is an unproven hypothesis and so until proven I'm a total non-believer. We have had in the past global periods of warmth and ice ages, before mankind's existence and industrialization. In the late 1960's scientists were warning that we were overdue another ice age.  :o :o :o :D :D :D

Oil, coal and gas aren't going to last forever, so I don't have a problem with finding practical cost effective alternatives.

We were one of the first countries in the world to have a national grid and also one of the world's leading countries in nuclear power generation in the 1940's and 50's.

Now China is the biggest builder of nuclear power stations with their 4th generation low radiation now online and research on 5th generation using Thorium well advanced.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/ambroseevans_pritchard/8393984/Safe-nuclear-does-exist-and-China-is-leading-the-way-with-thorium.html

The UK's answer is windmills that don't work when there is not enough wind and don't work if there is too much wind.  :o This combined with a carbon tax will get rid of any energy intensive industries that we still have as our energy prices are / will be too high to be competitive. As an island with one on the highest tidal changes in the world so this maybe, just maybe a viable alternative, but the only big scheme being considered was for the River Seven, but this has not been cancelled as the green's think some wading birds won't like it  ::) If we had, had the greens and our current planning laws 200 years ago the industrial revolution would never of happened.  :o

Now China has an infrastructure plan for roads, railways, hyro and nuclear power, we don't. Their GDP growth over the last 12 months was 9.5% ours was 0.8%.
