It is very embarressing indeed, but I hope it works.Someone needs to do something. Problem could be that his sugeestions are ruled out due to human rights act - which they dont have in the U.S.

All we need is a police force that institutes a no tolerance policy, on everything. You come down hard on litter, graffiti, anti social behaviour all the way up to major crime. :y
The trouble is you need the legal system to follow suit, and the politicians to have the balls to implement tough sentencing. :(
We didn't have much problem before namby pamby liberalism attitudes took over. Start with tne cane in schools, a good clip round the ear from the police etc. :y
They can bring in all the expert advisors they like but without giving them the backing nothing changes.

Not sure we have a gang problem, though, do we? I've no doubt that we have a 2 3rd generation "career claimant" problem. Still, it's a nice headline, which gives the impression that something is being achieved... ::)

Not sure we have "gangs" that to me says organised, with a purpose. Drug running, prostitutes, stealing cars.

UK tends just have groups of scumbags without aim in life causing trouble, cause its "fun"

Look at the list of Looters we have had, teachers, footballers ect... these are not gang members, just people looking to cause trouble and get something for nothing.

I can't see why its embrassing either just asking for advice, be good to have his input. But I think our situation is very different.

I can assure you we have gangs - organised in drug running, prostitution etc. in and around our major cities. The fact is that "the likes of us" dont tend to move in circles where we encounter them. ;)

But where those gangs the cause of the riots? Why draw attention to their business?

More like scumbags saw that shooting as an excuse for some trouble!

I'm with Albs here... Of course we have organised crime gangs, The Mafia, The Triads, Russians, Eastern Europeans, et al, and plenty of home growns.... all making loads of moooolah out of drugs, prostitution, extortion, people trafficing, porn, hooch, fraud and more....

The thing is, they're too busy and clever to get involve in mindless crap... Why draw attention, when you're not on most peoples radar.....

The gangs who rioted, that Cameron and his new buddy are talking about, are the teenage from sink estate variety.... Which, incidently are probably the recruiting ground for the more criminal/organised variety.....

My thoughts are that anyone who carries a gun for whatever reason, or sells drugs illegally should be subject to being executed on sight! They are the scum of the earth and a disgrace to humanity in general. There is no reason why anyone should have to carry a gun in this country at all and druggies cause their own problems because no-one made them become addicts. They became addicts by their own choice!
Personally I don't care where the advice comes from as long as it is effective and is put into use without any of the usual namby pamby do-gooders restrictions that might interfere with their 'human rights'.   ::) Just a thought but I thought animals did not have human rights anyaway.
Bring back public floggings and make them suffer, plus anyone that is not of natural British nationality (born in the UK) should then be immediately deported with all of their family too and never allowed re-entry. No compensation payments paid or appeals allowed either. That would solve two large problems in one go!
Its time this country got as hard as Australia and New Zealand.  ;)

I prefer some people who are immigrants to a lot of natives.

I am not UK born either and the MOD hospital I was born in is closed
