Well she came in, fixed it in around 40 mins! Fantastic  :)

Trouble is although database is back, I still can't get the system to work. The company i used to work for is down to 5 people now, I'm doing the jobs of about 10 people.

I have root access to boxes I really should not be messing with  ;D

Going to try dialling in again tonight.

On the upside I was allowed to expense beer for everyone helped me so far, it turned out to be a rather heavy night  :-X

I've also learnt loads of new Linux stuff, being on my own, I'm forced to understand new things and work problems.

I used to only just dabble, restarting JBoss on RedHat was about as hardcore as I went, but now I'm rebooting the entire servers & services, full access to server room  :D

Imagine my dilema. Full root to several thousand Solaris, HPUX and Linux servers, and full Admin to several thousand Windows servers.  Mad fools ;D

My problem comes from remembering to change heads between Windows and *nix/Linux servers. del *.* doesn't do too much unsuspecting damage to a Windows box, but rm -rf *.* in any directory is pretty dramatic on a *nix/Linux box. Apparently ::)

On the upside, after 10 years, they have at last removed by NetWare account at the top of the NDS tree...   ...took them long enough to notice I haven't done NetWare support since around 1999 ::)

i havent seen one of my mates for about 4 years now who i worked with for years on jobs, we ring each other every couple of weeks for a chat and a laugh. i have another mate i hadnt heard from for about 18 months who rang cause his washing machine broke and he wanted me to plumb a new one in. he drinks with plumbers but decided to ring me after all this time for a bit of free help cause he had a problem. not a mate in my mind thats not what i call a mate
