Actually stood up close to one yesterday. Until you do you don't realize just how big they are. I'd be fine once on as i'm a big lad but the panniers might make getting on & off tricky as i'm not as agile as i once was.....

They are big buggers.... was it the GSA or GS?

GSA has wire wheels rather than cast, it also has a much bigger fuel tank.

I tend to put tent & sleeping bag on back seat, it makes mounting it, "interesting" - Also with all that gear on the back and full tank of fuel, i'm not that strong, so it can be a real mission to lift it off the side stand  :-[

Its not too bad getting on and off.  I struggle with the topbox, as I always refused to have one put on any of my bikes (for sexuality reasons ::)), so have got lazy with how I get my leg over ;D

We used to have a courier that had a GS where by most bikers would grumble about taking a large jiffy bag he was happy taking 4 A4 boxes or 2 storage boxes on it  :) :) ;)

Storage boxes are huge.... in fact I recall a cubby little admin asking me to take BBQ supplies to an OOF meet, as his manly bike was incapable of carrying a pack of bacon!  ;D

More than capable of carrying important things like food. And food. Not forgetting food.

Trouble was, some people going to the meet wanted to have Tech2 done, which meant either leaving the burgers and sausages at home (not friggin' likely!) or getting you to carry the Tech2 :P


There are obviously topboxes available for the ZX10, but never wanted one. Looks crap. Gay.  I suspect there are sideboxes available, certainly are for its successor, ZZR1100, although my non standard exhaust might be problematic.  Again, a bit too poofy for me.  I'm clearly not as in touch with my feminine side as Ewan...

Yeah thats right I had to take all the BBQ food & tech2, I actually like top/side boxes, extra weight on the back makes ride better!

I've always maintained I love camping, but you can't bomb down a country twisty lane at 80mph, getting 50mpg, skip traffic jams or hold anyone up on a bike  :)

You want to try picking one up once some blind git knocks the rider off! Took 3 of us. And I had to winch it on the truck as the front wheel was bent. As it was only 6 weeks old, and a low speed crash, I couldn't just drag it on like a badly damaged one.
