Mmmmmmmmm apple products, oh a shiny bead, it's beautiful. Yes I did do "media studies" at University.

Follow the flock apple owners.

(no offence was meant in this, I know how it sounded in my head when I wrote it, but it may not be the same when others read it)

Apple is betting on HTML5 and making the browser do the work. Still no flash if ever I think.

No matter what people think of his products, he has made Apple in to a huge successful company capable of taking on and winning against likes of Nokia & Microsoft.

Does not look good for him :(

Thats what happens when you become a successful company, Tesco, Sky ect, you can't have competition forever, eventually one company will get on top.

Competition wise, you can buy any Phone you want, Windows/Symbian/Android from huge range of manufactures, HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola.

I'd say there is healthy competition there ;) - Its hotting up too, M/S buying Nokia & Google buying Motorola.

Computers wise, Apple dominate the £1,000+ home market, but they still struggle in corporate, and they have nothing to speak of sub £1k.

Plenty of competition i'd say.  :)

They only dominate for two reasons

1) Most PCs are cheaper than that - many many more PCs

2) PCs over £1000 tend to be self builds with multi hundred pound graphics cards, SSDs and latest hotest Intel processor, used mainly for gaming, these are not counted. Also small builders are likely not counted.

As to post £1000 PCs, why  :-/. Buy a bloody xbox, it'll be far better in 99% of cases.

Apple have been successful in carving out a niche, and have done well in the style-over-substance, started with the iMacs when Jobs came back to crApple.  Only with the gayPod did they really become a household name,

The fact they now chose to use the courts so heavily to grow, to me, means they have run out of innovation.

To do real work (not that i do any) on a PC, your average crapo box from PC world aint going to cut it.
