any idea where i could get a spare door key cut ,its a security type lock with a barel key,timpsons and the like say no ?

Security locks like that, same as for my flat common entrance door, have to be bought from a specifc place. As normal places will not cut then, for me I had to get it from the management company which owns the building. So at a guess either the place you bought your van or where it was made

easier to buy a new lock set and very easy to fit and with it you should get 3 keys,thats if you want the security type or go back to normal which is cheaper and keys are available to buy from any reputable dealer off the shelf
