Went tonight to buy the 150 piece socket set after sending off for some Halfords vouchers from work to pay for it.

I was in last week and priced it up £100 or £95 Trade Club.

Went to pay today and it's £150  £120 TC

Price changed 4th June    

So i'll have to wait 6m for it to be reduced again and keep the vouchers until then.

have you checked whether the vouchers have an expiry?

Ouch... I know the feeling.

The problem is that the tool set may very well be worth £120, but after you missed it for £95 you just can't buy it anymore, can you...?

At £95 its a reasonable price, its not worth more though as the spanners are awful.....

I have to agree with that - the spanners do dig in hand a bit.

My other gripes are:
The normal sockets could be a tad deeper
Needs some 1/2" to 3/8" to 1/4" adapters (about £3 from Halfords).
Needs some screwdriver bits, as the supplied ones don't fit the screwdriver handle, on the 3/8" wrench.

Oh, and the rachet spanners tend to get lost on cars, don't they Laidback66

I have to agree with both of the above.  Sockets are not deep at all - my old Stanley set is far better in this regard.

Needs some screwdriver bits, as the supplied ones don't fit the screwdriver handle, on the 3/8" wrench.

Can't comment on this as I have not used them, but it sounds pretty poor to me!

Can't comment on this as I have not used them, but it sounds pretty poor to me!

I just lobbed in a couple of adapters, and a few extra screwdriver bits.  Its a handy kit in that you can just pick up, throw in car, and be able to deal with most things...

Not lost at all mate, I know exactly where it is...!  

Somewhere between Brackley and Oxford, as it appears to no longer be attached to the handbrake.  My guess would be the A34....
