To clarify,
l was working with the car on axle stands.
lt took ages to remove the old exhaust. The 4 bolts near the cats all sheared. l had to file the the remains down. Then drill them out. With a battery drill.
The nuts on the clamps by the back box rounded off. l ended up cutting through both pipes with a hacksaw.
Fitting the new exhaust went quickly. l had it fitted. Then opened up to smear exhaust paste where needed. Then tightened up and engine running in under 45 minutes.
The slight differences to the original are no different than other pattern parts.
All in all the new exhaust was fitted without any modifying or problems.

Good work Gary.     Glad you managed to sort it out to your satisfaction.... 

Thats the good thing about OOF.  Some folks are ready to assist folks with their tools whilst others are ready to assist from afar.  Sometimes the further they are, the better they are.  Apparently....  Again, well done.  Saved a few quid as well gaining more experience, no doubt....
