At last! (Some) Success!
« on: 31 August 2009, 16:59:01 »

Well, my sat nav wasn't speaking as the speaker was missing. Don't know why but it was, and the kick panel had been replaced with a plain one.

Thanks to Razzo I obtained a speaker so today went about fitting it. The wire that was loose behind the kick panel has a connector on it that the speaker wouldn't accept so I cut the wires and soldered them onto the speaker terminals, and it worked! However now it doesn't after I've put everything back together. I broke the clip on the display connector so I'm hoping it just needs to be pushed in a bit more firmly and it'll work. Can't do that until I find my radio removal tools

Also went to fit the radio cage as that caused me some grief last time, bent it back into shape and went careful with the wiring (which is a mess  >:() and now that works (wouldn't show any info on MID)

So I've had some limited success today. Still waiting on HT leads to fit them and the DIS pack. Cats need to go on and a pair of droplinks. Got a few trim pieces from Daz to tidy up the interior which is just as well as I broke the hazard switch getting it out.

It fought the whole way really (am I cursed? or is it the car?) but I'm glad I got somewhere.

So
