I think the old girl done well over the weekend. Took my lad back to Uni up in Bolton.

Had the back end more or less on the bump stops on the way up and empty on the way home.

Went A11, A14, M6, done 475 miles and still had approx 55 miles of juice left in the tank when we got home.

Rough work out is about 36 mpg for a 2.5 V6 auto on 132000 miles, what do you all think

The 2.5 is economical at constant speeds.  The only 2.5 v6 auto I had was only 2mpg better than my 3.0 auto, but probably the way I drive

I think MDTM was getting high 30s from his 2.5 manual as an average (long dual carriageway/motorway commute) untiil he parked it in the back of another car...

I consistently got a genuine 30mpg at 70mph (cruise enabled and 2 up) from our 2.5, and this figure was worked out by brim filling the tank, driving a set distance, and then refilling (to brim) and doing the math.

Vx themselves say the 2.5 does 32mpg @ 56mph, so your "rough" figure of 36mpg (albeit slightly generous) is about right.

35mpg here (cruise on), that was on a rush hour commute of 140 miles, 45 mins spent in stop-start M4 traffic 

2.5 would be just as good, but not looking to swap, my 2.2 has been ultra reliable.

Might take the bike out next weekend and locate some of these M4 short cuts  8-)

The yid in me is most displeased to hear that I could have saved £2.74p in the 3 months we had our MIG

36.1mpg was the most I got en route, with the instant hovering at 38-39mpg in a 50mph SPECs zone at some points.

The overal journey was 35.5mpg, thanks to some roundabouts + acceleration onto dual carrigeways at the end. This did include three stoppages, however.

Used to get 38mpg constantly, (that was based on fill up) and over 600 miles to the tank without any worry.
