saw a tip on car show said  use smooth peanut butter on your bumbers and trims they come up like new , tried it works a treat as good as new ,something to do with the oil in peanuts , just wipe on a section at a time and wipe off
  great

Yeah , forget about Peanut butter 'cause it doesn't last .
Boiled Linseed Oil , been using it on a couple of our vehicles and it does work. Over here it's rained for three months now and the finish on both of them ,a Transit and a Freelander is as new . Normally any treatment breaks down after a week or two but the BLO shows no sign of deterioration after 12 - 14 weeks.

Autogylm bumper restorer is pretty good too..looks like green slime when you put it on but does bring plastic up well...agree though it doesn,t last that long.

I usually toast 2 slices, cheese under the gril on 1, peanut butter on t'other and put 'em together Yummy yummy.

No, the boiled stuff is just more refined, looks like veg oil, wonderful stuff, use on cricket bats, old wooden tools, and plastic trim.
