So...whats it worth?
« on: 28 September 2009, 14:54:57 »

My Hubby has found a miggy for sale, he is desperate for it but what with my estate and his work van it wouldnt be used all that often.
Omega 3.2 Elite, not completely sure on the year but is facelift model. Has been well cared for by current owner wants £2000 for it. Worth it or not???

I'm afraid it'd be difficult to say without a few more details, for example if it was a 2001 'Y' reg with say 130,000 it wouldn't be worth it. But if it had a CID that always adds value. Estate's are worth more than the saloon models. We need more information really.

What I would add is that good 3.2 Elites with reasonable mileage are fantastic bargains, a lot of car for very little money, so I wouldn't worry if it is a few quid over 'market value'.

The newer it is the rarer - most will be 2001 (either Y or 01), fewer will be 2002 or 2003. Again, if in good nick and reasonable mileage - I'd go for it at 2k. He will truly enjoy it...

Mind you there are some basic maintenance chores to be done as soon as you get the car (Cambelt!), but you will be able to get here all the help and info you need.

PS - just make sure it is not ex-Police car - nothing wrong with that but they will NOT have all the toys of the 'real' Elite!

Not a silly question at all. A CID is a colour info display. It's the computer display in the dash, on yours it's the thing that shows the outside temp and radio station etc. It's only available with the NCDC 2013 and 2015 sat nav's and all 3.2's had sat nav as standard. But the CID was an option, and is desirable. Otherwise it comes with a half height mono screen.
