Omega X20XEV automatic gearbox

Hello all omega owners.I want to buy a car to enter this club but i need an advice.
The car is Opel Omega 2.0,year 1998,engine X20XEV,automatic gearbox,134000 km.What I am concerned is the gearbox.What can u tell me about this car automatic gearbox-problems?expensive if it gets broken,full of electronics?I owned a Bmw 316i with manual,I don't know nothing about this Opel engine,i heard some opel engines have piston heads problems-ecotec.Is it worth buying ,maintanance is expensive.Thanks and I hope u help me decide,i suppose to buy it this week.

You don't have to be a Omega owner to join OOF but it helps

Where are you located? Its just that in the UK Omegas are quite cheap now and that it dosn't take very much for them to be scrapped - so there is a good supply of second hand parts.

The gearbox is quite reliable, although you should think about getting the fluid changed at some point within the first few months of ownership.
