Why do some garages.......
« on: 20 October 2009, 13:03:12 »

Tighten your wheel nuts so tight. I havent had to take the wheels off since having new tyres fitted until this morning. I had to use all my might and a very long extender bar with my bloodvessals almost busting, to get the bolts out. I turned it 180 deg and it was still tight. Why do they do that?

What do they use to tighten them up with?

I thought they are supposed to nip them with the airgun and then go around and torque them up afterwards with a wrench. I should imagine most just rag them up with the airgun and leave it at that.  :-/

Thats how they are supposed to be done but, they rag them up with the impact wrench and then put the torque wrench on which, not surprisingly, goes click without turning the bolt/nut

Any tighter and I would of had to take it back for them to undo.
