again learned to appreciate the mig
« on: 03 November 2009, 09:32:55 »

Yesterday had to take a short trip of 40 miles.
Mig isn't in best condition ( needs new rear shocks and cam cover gasket replacing again) so I took my fathers Octavia 1.9tdi first model.
Engine is nice and consumption from my cigarette lighter is higher but man is it ugly to drive.
And after only 40 miles I was feeling like I had a fight with a whole carate team and lost ;D

VW's have rock hard seats, had one as a private car in London, would only be in it 30 mins, had back ache after 15 mins! Ford Galaxy was much more comfy, nicer interior too.

The seats are horrible.
Chair in school is more comfortable than those seats.
Also whole car shakes and rolls. It wont loose control but sure makes you sick.
But I must admit I like the engine.

VW diesel lumps can be spanked but still return good mpg, pull very well too.

Interior build is bang on too, but as you say shame ride and seats let it all down.
