Hi guys and gals

My wife's corsa 1.0 3 cylinder has had the old rattle and shake from the timing chain for quite a while now and its even loosing power so i think its time i got it changed.

I rang vauxhall for a price on the kit and was told a price of £122.87 for the kit ( trade price as it aint on trade club)


The guy told me that the kit included  the chair, tensioner,  some gaskets and also the cam gears.

Do i have to change the cam gear or are they just trying to sell me something thst i dont need,  Do they sell the kit without the cam gear and do anyone know the price without this.

Any help or advice you expert bunch of people

Cant seem to find the part i need from the link,   And i have found the kits much cheaper on ebay but none of them include the sprocket  !!  so do i need it??

Did you type in the registartion number? If not type it in then click on cam and valve train  Not sure on the sprocket (should be my dad has one of these  ).

It's generaly a good idea to replace sprockets whe you replace a chain whether on a car or not. Unless your old sprockets are obviously not worn I'd be inclined to change them.

My wife has the same elephants roller skate and also had the same problem,
I changed the timing chane and it cleared up.
I also bought a kit but it didnt have any sprokets with it. I paid £98. seems like a good idea to change them aswell though.

Looks like the vauxhall guy was telling the truth then,   Anyone with a trade club book who can verify that it aint in the book

Easy enough to do, and yes, as with ANY chains setup (including bikes), you change the gears to as the chain and gears wear to each other.
