Avoid this ebayer.....
« on: 13 November 2009, 09:45:12 »

Hi all,

Bought a set of EBC Greenstuff pads from ebayer trader carfactorsuk. When they arrived, they were second hand. The backing on the pads were showing witness marks, the pad surface had metal transfer on them and was also chipped around the edges. The box the pads came in was held together by cellotape.

I contacted the seller and initially the comms were good. They asked for pictures, which I sent and they even offered to refund the cost of postage if I kept the pads. But I wasn't happy to do so. They agreed to pay my return postage. I sent the item back, recorded (luckily!) over a week ago. Nothing heard from them. So I emailed them again a couple of days ago. Still nothing.

Started a PP dispute and appropriate feedback left.

Avoid these guys like the plague.

UPDATE

Got a very apologetic email from them saying the returns department is off due to illness and the email server is running badly.

Sounds like an excuse to me. HOWEVER I will say that once negative feedback and a paypal dispute was raised, it was dealt with very quickly. All I can say is good recovery and it's your choice if you use them.

Sounds like what happened was they were returned cheekily by someone else and resold without being checked...

Glad you got sorted  :y

Yeah my thoughts exactly, however if I'd have walked into a shop and that was the only box available, I would have asked for it to be opened before I parted with my cash. Also if I was working in a warehouse and was sent to pick and pack it, I would have flagged it up before posting it out.

When they said to me (via email) the pads haven't been used as the protective surface is still on the face. To which I pointed out the metal transfer from the disc. They might not have done 10 miles, but it's not the point, if I'd have wanted second hand parts, I would have bought second hand parts and paid second hand prices!
