Just bought the her in doors a 1.8tdi focus, car seems to be in good nick bodywork immaculate and engine seems to run fine last serviced a few thousand ago (if you can believe any service record). It will get done straight away anyhows.

Question is are there any specific problems i need to look for on this model :question

Pads and discs will get done straight off as wiil a full service  cam belt needs doing in ten thousand.

Anything guys?  :y

Done a few of these,
heater blower motor prone to failure easy to change tho, there is an updated part of the scuttle to prevent the water seeping in which kills the blower motor in the first place yours may ave been done but worth checking!!
DMF very failure prone and gearbox gets noisy with high miles on them, but goes on for ever like this,cambelt is a lot of fun to do as the crankshft bolt siezes solid owing to long intervals!!
crank timing  pin can be snapped easily if your not careful,
usual fwd crap driveshaft gaiters  split with monotonous regularity stretchy boots are you friend here !!
thsts as much as i can tell you mate not had a lot else to do on them :y

DMF ? Sorry to sound thick  :D

Only got 71K on it on a 03 plate mileage backed up by the MOT's and DVLA chescks so happy with that.

How often you suggest for the Cambelt?

I reckon the tdci ones go around corners better.  I'd never own another petrol one again, useless heap of junk!

had a petrol as a hire car, liked the handeling....for front wheel drive.

done a petrol cam belt, uses a flat piece of metel to lock the cams and a pin screws into the crank case to the lock the crank. Easy enough...... once you've found the crank pin blanking plug that is  ::)  ;D
