Jaguar XKR
« on: 01 December 2009, 12:38:14 »

Recently my godson won the Sunday Times HotLaps competition, the prize being the loan of a Jaguar XKR for 6 months. Yesterday I had the chance to have a drive in it and have to say it was absolutely mind blowing. Its a 5 litre supercharged V8 and it will do 50-70 in 1.9 seconds. The acceleration can only be described as fierce (you can almost feel your internal organs being crushed as you open the thing up). It has every single gizmo inside, flappy paddle gearchange, fully controlled DVD nav/phone/audio/climate etc etc plus its a convertible. Downside is about 8mpg when you thrash it. Totally impractical for an old git like me, but what a motor!! Sorry to say it even puts my lovely Elite mig into the shade!! Hope he enjoys it for the next few months - I'm green with envy!!

Only if you've got the optional JATO rocket.  ;)

Tends to scorch the tarmac a bit though. :-/
