Left the car in today for the four wheel alignment check after changing the wishbones. Same place as I had it done before, though they've moved to new premises. Because of this and the fact that they seemed busy I just left the car at 2 and called back at 5.15 to collect it. The boss then tells me that the check wasn't done because the rear was 'rusted solid'. The actual guy who had 'done' it had left at 5 so I couldn't speak to him, and have to call in tomorrow on my way home from work.
When I got home this evening I started to wonder about the previous alignment check and pulled out the print out, which shows the various details for both front and rear (I was starting to think that perhaps the rear hadn't been done at all!), and noted the date as 30 January 2007.
Do you think its likely that the rear has 'rusted solid' in less than 5 months? Or is somebody not being entirely accurate with me?

They do seem to seize up. I always put penetrating oil on for a few days before...

I had mine done after 4 years and new wishbones - the back did not need any adjustment at all.

I think he wanted a flyer and didn't bother - compare printouts to check.

Although if they are rusted and they shear something trying to loosen them, they have to fix it, so it could be true :-/

I vaguely remember there is something that means you can't use lots of heat on the rear ones  :-/

If they have seized then its because the last person to adjust them has overtightened the pinch nut nad not re-greased them...
