Pretty sure the picture was taken 1920-1930 if that is any help.
The picture is off my Nanna's Grandad.

Ok long shot but could the make of car be a Alvis maybe a 1950 Alvis drophead ;) ;)

 ;D ;D Have a pic of one in one of my car books and the part you can see look,s just like it :y :y. They made cars from the 1930- 1967 and where made in Britain . Bit of an old school car fan....when not in the pimp mobile ;D ;D

Certainly earlier than 1950! Probably about 1930. Is that possibly the early Ford emblem sticking forward at top of the bonnet? Looking at the headlamp size I would say it is unlikely to be a 'prestige' car which of that period tended to have larger lamps. :y
