A guy in Barnsley bought a Dutton Pheaton kit car with a modded chassis, 2 speed auto box and a chevy 350. It had NOS fitted to it.
He reckoned it did 100 mph in 1st and 200mph in 2nd
Appaerty he had time sheets from Santa pod showing ET's of under 9 secs, and reckoned it was undrivable on the road without the wheelie bars fitted, Naturally we called him a liar.
When he left that day he said he was out of NOS so he warmed the car while we all had a nosey, when he set off he floored it and the front tyres were off the ground a few inches for the 1st few yards.
Appaerently that night he was going through wombwell past the police station doing about 60 and reckoned a ctraffic carpulled out after him put the lights on and came after him, he thought he was going to flip it as it booted into 1st as his passenger engaged the NOS switch.
left wombwell at an unmentionable speed with out the cop car in site.
He came back the next day with the remains of the NOS bottle, and yes I saw it pop the wheels up in both gears.
About a month later it was in the scrap yard (He owned that as well) parked at the side of a garage with the engines gutts (what was left of them) hanging out of the side of the engine. Was fun while it lasted I suppose.
