Flat Wiper Blades
« on: 18 February 2010, 20:55:51 »

I read here earlier, some members views on Flat wiper blades. Now I have to confess, I am an old fashioned stick in the mud about some things, & the ordinary blades have served me well over the years, so why change horses in mid gallop I always say?
Well, my miggy has seven arc shaped scratches on the offside where the blade reaches the end of it's sweep & one which arcs right across the screen from start to finish of the sweep!, and on Friday, I could hardly see the road through the screen, the blades were performing so badly!, even though it was only raining lightly. There was no visible sign of damage or decay on them, but they would have to be replaced! But with what?  After giving the glass a good fettling with cornflour & water ( see my other post) we went to Tesco for groceries & I saw a pair of discounted flat blades, and after humming & arring a bit I paid the exhorbitant amount of £9.32 ! ( i'm nothing but generous where the car's concerned  ;))    Anyway, to cut a very long story short.... They are bloody marvelous! giving a perfect clean sweep every time, & silently too!!!
I can't recommend them enough! (not necessarily Tescos) ;D :y

I like flatblade wipers but unfortunately not the aftermarket ones you find floating about. I modified the wiper arms on my MV6 to accept the fitment found on most VW/audi's/ford foci, you can just about see them in the picture (car is very dirty)

i have another thread about flat blades somewhere around here (they change so fast!) - the Bosch flat blades were highly recommended for the windscreen, i bought a cheap one off the 'bay for several pounds to experiment with on the rear window, as stated very easy to fit, just snaps in and works a treat, so will definately get the Bosch ones though they are about 19 GBP  a pair  :)

Got some off e;bay a while back for the esti and these work very well, so will seriously consider flat blades for the mig when it gets to that time.
