Well the other evening I read the fault codes on Di's car - none stored.
Di has since been to France and back in the car - and noticed the EML came on half way through.
I have read the codes again - and present are:
P0300 Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
P1523 Electronic Throttle Control Malfunction
So - all fresh codes.
When revving the car, it didn't seem nearly as responsive as it did on Monday night..
Interestingly, it has been reported in various places on here that Cyl no 4 has been problematic before.
Also - on revving the car, there is a god-awful new knocking noise as the revs drop.
I thought at first it was a follower, but - too noisy, loud and metallic.
My only other thought is cambelt idler - which I'll check by taking the cover off tomorrow.
Unfortunately I'll only be able to do half a job, as the stat kit / pipe hasn't arrived yet.
Thoughts welcome, specially on the codes and the knock - as I've not owned a 3.2 before.
