Facelift Omega's in scrap yards?
« on: 26 February 2010, 22:43:17 »

I'm just wondering if anyone has seen recently any facelift Omega's in scrap/breakers yards? The tradtional one's where you can walk around yourself. I do travel around a bit so distance doesn't matter too much, just interested to see if there's anything out there.

Trouble is may already be gone, sometimes they stay in there for ages, other times they only last a week before being crushed

Mmm good point, may already be dead by now...but maybe worth a go anyway...I'll take a drive there and see what's what. With the amount of vehicles they've got, I doubt phoning them would help much either.

We had 2 crashed ones on our local scrapyard in the last 6 years, thats it, most Omega's are just prefacelift 16v CD or base modells.

But I guess, in the next years the number of facelifts on the scrappie will increase. ;)

I remember when this place was a main dealers, Charles Jenkins & Son's. First Rolls Royce I ever saw belonged to Mr Jenkins.
Rhymney Council Bus Garage was opposite. Oh the memories.

Yep, the've been selling or breaking cars there for years! :)

Bus depot is a council depot now.

They don't get many facelifts in there, so I tend to notice on the rare occasion when one appears.... it was on the back of an incoming transporter last week. Might go over later to check it out - there's a few bits i could do with  :y
Will post if anything of interest :y

Just got back from Smiths,
The facelift is an ex taxi 1999 'V' 2.0 GLS in silver with 227k miles.
There were three prefacelifts too, two CD and one CDX.
