Spent Three Hours Today.
« on: 02 March 2010, 16:35:14 »

Liz's french POP's exhaust fell off lastnight, it's corroded through where the down pipe from the cat meets the rest of the exhaust.
Plan A.
Removed the exhaust & then set about the cat arrangement, all started well until two of the manifold studs stayed in the head, that meant the radiator wasn't gona allow me to remove the manifold & cat arrangement.
Plan B.
Set about removing cat from manifold, two nuts came undone no worries (nuts aren't 12mm or 13mm, they're 1/2", french crap), the second two can't be got at because the alternator's in the way (oh my giddy aunt).
So in three hours i've removed the air intake pipe ;D ;D ;D ;D

I shall be having another look tomorrow & probably setting fire to it :y :y

Doesn't sound like much fun  :(

Changed the Oil and filter in the DTi, looked at changing the fuel filter but chickened out for the moment!

Front N/S shock is weeping so have ordered a replacement pair on TC, wishbones and donut bushes sitting in a box ready to fit ASAP (front tyres are rapidly running out of tread on the inner edges......), I think a trip to WIM to fit it all beckons after payday.

EDIT: Because I can't spell!

The diesel filters are a PITA & i'm not keen on doing them, fortunatly it's only once a year for mine :)

Must say though that changing the oil is a doddle with the filter arrangement :y No more swearing, because the filter's too tight etc.

Well you don't get covered in oil like you do with the 3.2 paper insert filter type! Thought i'd have to take the undertray off to get to the drain plug but see that someone remembered to fit a removable panel  :y
