I don't really ever get attached to cars to be honest. I (generally) enjoy them, but don't get upset when they go. I remember one of my brother's in floods of tears when his MK1 Escort (his pride and joy) had to go when he got married. I assume the tears were over the car, rather than the upcoming ceremony

That said, Rover 216GSi G882 TAV (aka Tavvy), when I had no use for it, I gave it to my brother, as I wouldn't sell it to anyone else. He scrapped it some 5yrs later, having been his workhorse when he rebuilt his house. I'm happy it had a long and useful life. And stupidly reliable and robust - my brother did NOTHING beyond a bit of welding for MOT and some tyres. Not even oil. It died an honourable death when the cost to get it through an MOT was not worth it - and he'd finished the house, so didn't need an old banger any more for carrying building supplies and rubble...
And also Omega Elite 2.5TD (aka TRACTOR!). Whilst I wouldn't go so far as to say I got emotional when it drove off, I will admit I had a sad feeling in my heart. Oddly, I was discussing this with Kevin Wood and Chrisgixer over the weekend, and the sadness as I watched it drive around the corner. I am pleased its gone to a good owner on the forum, Squealy, who sounds like he will be exploring the engine as I did...
