God knows, I do hate that though, they think it makes it stand out but, all it does is make it messy and hard to read

I'm sure those are the wrong wheels for a Ghia.

No they are the later Ghia wheels.

I had a '73 3 lit V6 one of these - used to cruise it well into 3 figures on motorways.  Only probs i had with it were the need to replace complete exhaust (had to cut original ford one off as they fit it before bolting rear subframe up!!), replace inlet manifold gasket (they die @ 40K miles), then just normal service items.  Great motor.

I had the same wheels on a 77 3.0L manual.

Cracking car-only problem I had was the drive to the oil pump rounding off. Stopped engins as soon as oil light went on-replaced pump and drive and no further problems.

Also just noticed that its got the later Cologne engine and not the Essex. Had both engines (three Colognes) and reckon the Essex was far pokier-far more low down torque. In fact my 3.0L was just as quick as a later Capri Injection I had.

I had a 72 one in blue many years ago. It suffered the standard ford fault of breaking the plastic timing wheel. Why did they make those engines self destruct ? For those that don't no what I am on about, it is basically the same as cam belt breaking. these engines had a plastic timing wheel for hecks sake. Smooth idea ford.

I note this car has the later Mk2 2.8 engine

Had two of them, aan R reg 3.0. ghia in silver with different alloys to those on the advert, but a stonking car, and a coupe, that had a fantastic engine from a 2.9 V6 cologne ex-cop car. One of henry's best cars ever, the later granada scorpio was not as good.

Not very many years back there was a very reasonable Coupe broken in a lcal scrap yard.  The interior was near imaculate.

They were very very rare if it was a factory manual. IIRC disguinished from autos by a body coloured panel between the rear light as opposed to vinyl on the auto.

A fibre timing wheel. The idea was it was quieter than two metal to metal gears ..... it worked, they were very quiet when they broke! 
The were safe heads weren't they? So if it did strip its teeth, you just fitted another gear & you were away.
