I know a few of you have registered your car as LPG with the DVLA, and got a massive £10 off  or so

I have to tax mine this month, so would like to register it. What did the DVLA ask for? Safety / Conversation certificate?

How to tell DVLA about the changes

Using your registration certificate you’ll need to:

    * notify any changes or corrections by completing section seven
    * sign and date the declaration box

For changes not listed in section seven you'll need to underline the vehicle details in section four, writing the new information next to them. You must also produce documentary evidence with a covering letter explaining the changes.

If the changes don’t affect your vehicle tax, then send the registration certificate and any additional documentation to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BA.

If the changes affect the amount of vehicle tax you pay, you’ll need to apply to your nearest DVLA local office to:

    * apply for an exchange licence if your tax disc shows the old details
    * retax your vehicle if the vehicle tax has expired

In both cases, you’ll need to include the registration certificate and any additional documentation with your application.

Whatever you have I think ...  

EDIT .. just to add .... IMHO 3 reasons to do the paperwork ....

1. Very small amount of RFL decrease

2. MOT station will have no argument as the on-line info will say "Bi-Fuel"

3. Insurance companies seem to like it as they access the DVLA details and also se the "bi-fuel" bit

All in all it makes the whole thing kosher IME

Just a safety certificate will do

Doubt you'll get it all sorted in time for this month, unless you go into a DVLA office, but you'll get a refund of the difference when done

Try it on with a receipt for purchase of the kit plus a few photos of the install?

I doubt they care about LPGA, they just want proof that you're not diddling them out of a tenner.

Just rang them, they want part 7 of the V5 filled in, a covering letter and an invoice, which can be a copy. Shall send the details of the kit i bought from TinleyTech

That's only for vehicles on the "powershift" register, IIRC.

Normally means factory dual fuel or manufacturer approved conversion and unable to pull the skin from a wet rice pudding.

My 2.2 fits the bill then! 

Just filled in all the forms, and its been posted. Hope to get it back by end of the month for cheaper rate of tax

It fits the bill but not on the powershift register. It costs so much that very few manufacturers are even bothering now

in my case i got a tenner off, safety cert was fine, and seem to remember needing to go into local dvla office to change details although may have been due to time issues with tax renewal looming.

Seem to remember needing insurance as proof or something..? depends who you ask i suppose, or what my memory allows? might have dreamt that bit tbh.

Person i spoke to said copies of invoices would be enough, along with a covering letter. Have to see if that does the trick
