Finally got the VW Polo which my brothers boss gave us. Its really good. Only has 64bhp but it really doesnt hang around. Done a couple of bits to it like:
Elec windows weren't working from the drivers seat, stripped the switches and cleaned the contacts, all fixed.
Blown speaker in the front door. Happened to have a pair of Pioneer 3 way things in the garage that I paid a pound for last year at a car boot, they fitted perfectly and sound a lot better than the standard things.
Drivers door lock was u/s so simply swapped the whole handle and lock etc from the passenger side, job done.
Tax ran out last week and the MOT went yesterday so its going in Thursday. I know it needs a rear silencer but otherwise seems tip top.
So, once thats passed the wifes Audi will be going onto Ebay, question is how much do you think it will go for?
It is a real shed and will be sold as such. Its going to be listed as spares or repairs with a £150 start as I think that must be close to its scrap value. The paint is extremely (really extremely) poor, the turbo doesnt work so it is proper slow, it has 180,000 miles, but on the plus side it has 6 months MOT, 1 months tax, has never failled an MOT in my time with it, rust free (galvanized body), it is extremely reliable and amazingly economical.
These things still seem to fetch good money for some reason (If this was a good cond one I'd be looking at £800 for it) but if I reach £300 i'll be happy as a pig in poo (It only cost me £200 3 years ago)
