I do it on my common rail....seems to help a bit (its a bit quiter) and should help the pumps due to the adde sulphur and improved lubrication.

Do you know if it makes improvement on mpg and or performance or just a reduction in noise.

It was MDTM that brought this to our attention last year. I've been adding it since :y :y

There's a big difference in quality and price of 2 stroke so before i empty my oil tank on the bike ( still needs new engine as existing one is knacked from main baring failure), Is the cheapo 2 stroke that i wouldn't dare put in a chainsaw not to mention bike/scooter any good for the job or am i looking at a good quality oil?

Im sorry im digging up a old topic without using the original post but feel that there's a lot of new members here joining on daily/weekly basis and thought that some of them might be interested in this topic.

I've been using it in the Rover diesel for about 12 months now and it does make the engine quieter but can't say i've noticed any increase in mpg.

Got some castrol 2 stroke in the shed, left over from the petrol mower my Dad had.. Might just be a good use for it?? ::)

Can I safly assume that over use of 2stroke just puts up the cost of motering and not cause damage to cat or am I wrong

Wouldn't matter if it did destroy the CAT as it's not a requirement on a diesel at MOT time, just a smog test.

The only thing that the MOT station tests for from an emissions point of view on a diesel is the density of smoke (Smog) from the exhaust. A catalytic convertor is not required on a diesel in this country.
