Ford GT40, Le Mans winner 1966, 380bhp, 240 mph top speed !!
Lol are you sure :D http://www.pistonheads.com/milestones/gt40.htm
Don't forget the GT40 was very lightweight unlike the lardy M5 ;)
I'd still say it'd do 220 mph though. 204 as standard and he's done quite a bit 660 I think that has?

My son watched a video somewhere, calibrated box thing on the mirror,  204.3 MPH.

Oh and the speedo in my 5 series is deadly accurate (same as Sat-Nav).

Seller
This fully loaded M5, with virtually every Factory option possible
Reality
I am a very heavy car that will require lots of power to haul my heavy arse around.

Seller
Interior has a £6,000+ AV System, that has 3 independent wider-screens, (fitted into TUV approved wider Headrests); with their own indivdual 3 DVD/Game source systems with consoles/Controllers
Reality
I've had some more weight added that'll slow me down more.

Seller
£9,000 approx cost 21" 3 piece forged racing rims & Tyres
Reality
These wheels and tyres cost a fortune, look shit and i need to recover my losses.

Seller
with fully floating AP Racing 6 pot braking system & custom Goodridge brake lines with AP racing brake fluid.
Reality
I know more than BMW and you (the mug buyer)about brakes.

Seller
Custom tuned sports springs with carefully chosen spring rates
Reality
I found a spring supplier who made these 750lb springs that'll rattle your fillings. Nah mate i never touched the dampers you don't need to.

Seller
Vehicle has been tested a number of times at well over 200 MPH and will hit rev limiter at 220 MPH.
Reality
We revved the tits off it in top gear on the rolling road.

Seller
Complete meticulously custom engineered and fully developed POWER RAM-AIR Induction System
Reality
I've fitted green air filters (the mega cheap shit ones)

Seller
modified plenums, custom Quad RAM pipes (extensive mods and re-engineering of components was required to allow correct fitment of ram pipes whilst still retaining full functionality and features of all components)
Reality
I have no idea how ram air works, do you like these green filters? they let in loads of air.

Seller
Custom polished CNC manufactured Air-Mass meter adaptors
Reality
My mates learning how to use a CNC lathe and did 'em as a foreigner only cost me 40 quid.

Seller
Laser cut and polished heat shields
Reality
A bit of tin cut and bent to shape.

Seller
Dual Super Power Flow heads that have been tested to flow over 1200 BHP
Reality
I have no idea what they did or how heads are tested but feel the smoothness of these ports.

Seller
Custom big bore, high flow, balanced low back pressure exhaust design with X-pipe; modified, extended and relocated Lamda sensors, modified exhaust manifolds, including removal of all BMW catalysts (pre and post) with dual performance sport catalyst replacements; including rear boxes and performance diffuser offerring vast improvements over factory standard.
Reality
My mate who works at powerflow knows more about exhausts than BMW.

Seller
All pain-stakingly Custom re-mapped over and over again, dozens of times,
Reality
My mate has fat fingers and kept deleting the map.

Seller
already comes with 12 months on a brand new clutch & flywheel just fitted by BMW.
Reality
We knackered the flywheel and clutch after all that mapping.

Seller
this is a bargain, by camparison!
Reality
It's been done on the cheap.

Seller
has had something approaching £150,000 odd spent in total over the last 4 Years,  Price: £66,000.00
Reality

He'd never get £150,000 for something that costs 60k new, some people do that (spend thousands and take a huge loss). How do you know it hasn't been done properly and everything quality used? You could also say how do I know it has been, well I don't. I think it would do it though.

There must be cheaper ways to  cruise around selling counterfeit watches? ;)

There's a world of aerodynamic difference between a GT40 and an M5. ;D That's what matters at Vmax. Also, remember that power is proportional to the speed cubed once aerodynamics dominate, which they will at 200+MPH.

I'll take ramair as an example.
For ramair to work the induction system needs to be sealed against air loss. you can quite clearly see the airfilters in the picture therefore the system is not sealed.

Did you see Top Gear when James May tested the Bugatti Veyron? He mentioned something along the lines of whatever horsepower took you to 200mph you would need double that to take you beyond it.

VXR8 I love but personally, I think the M5 has apart from the Bugatti one of the best sounds around  :)

Way over priced for a piece of bavarian crap  ;D ;D ;D

A 220mph +/- 4% Test is available for a fee/Deposit of £10K;only refundable if speed not achieved!

So I pay 10K to do 220mph I could probably hire an Aston with some true street cred for at least a week for 10K

He said to do the extra 100 MPH after 155mph you need an extra 730 bhp, an extra 16 mph isn't 100, so some clever mathematician on here work it out  ;D
