Need some help

I'm soon to be taking ownership of a very nice facelift 3.0 V6 MV6 manual and i will be looking to getting a LPG set up on it, i've seen on ebay some company's offer system and fitting for about £1200/1300 and this is for a stag system and i just want to know the best company to go for (will travel) and system also what size tank will fit the wheel well in a saloon as i might go for that and not the one across the boot. Any info would be a great help :y :y :y

IMHO the smaller tank in the wheel well is less economically viable than the larger tank across the back .. but thats just my view ... I have the larger 80 litre (64 litres LPG) in mine.

The companies that offer to do the job in one day should, IMHO, be avoided at all costs, they probably drill the manifold without taking it off, and if you look at Kevins pictures in the maintenance threasd you'll see the amount of crud  produced .... would you want that in your intakes ???

The best option you can go for is to persuade Kevin, Tunnie, TB and Lazydocker to help you DIY it ... there is a wealth of experience in DIY building up .. and Kevin has an excellent record/reputation for his manifold skills  (  :) )

I know I paid a lot to have mine done .. if I were doing it now it would be DIY with these guys help...  hopefully .. :)

My conversion, 2 years ago, with a BRC system took 4 days and cost just over £2000 ..... but is about the most professional job seen by many... and several "cowboy" jobs have been seen/corrected by forum members

60 litre fitted in my saloon spare wheel well, some pro's and cons with it, these tanks are more expensive than the larger cylinders, and with the smaller capacity you spend a bit more on petrol when the gas inevitably runs out.
But then you do keep your boot space, although i keep the spare loose in the boot obviously i can remove it and risk a puncture for full boot capacity.

Personally i fitted it because i need the through space to the back seats, so had to be a spare wheel well tank in my case.

I would encourage a cylinder if at all possible on grounds of cost and convenience. Donut range can give 250 to 170 miles depending on mood, but to get 250miles you need a 50mph contaflow along your entire journey or the patients of a dead man. HTH.

Ps, bare in mind the extra weight of the tank fitted, some members have had ride hight trouble fitting 100 or 90 litre cylinders iirc with standard suspension, but no need to worry if you have self levelling, possibly worth geometric set up after installation.

Thanks guys for the help and i think i will go for the larger tank across the back, as for fitting if there is a member or two who would like the job of doing it then i would much rather pay them than pay some company to do it and i can do without the car for a week or two so i'm not in a hurry and after looking at lazydockers work i would feel much happier if a member was doing it cos you know much more care will be taking when being done, also i have 3 or 4 inlets sat in the garage so i could send one of them on first :)
