Remap, I was reading and he said, he was looking at a tuning box but he opted for a professional remap instead.

Heard some bad stories about them too, so I am rather happy he didn't get one

Think it means it was done specifically for the car... On the road, so to speak :-/

It is when a remap is done at the side of the road or on the rollers, this is supposed to be better as the tuning company actaully make the map for your car, not one that they have done before. So LD you were bang on

Not much benefit on modern closed loop setups.
