Hi,

anybody point me in the right direction on how to remove front seats from a facelift omega with pics??

Disconnect battery first and wait for 30-40mins or you'll have the airbags go off

OK to summarise:-

Raise seats and move all the way back.
Undo 2 x front bolts after removing any trim in the way. T50 torx bolts BTW
Move seats all the way forward and remove the back 2 x bolts.
Battery off for 1/2 and hour (cup of tea )
Then split the multi-plugs by the sill.
I found the easiest way to lift the seats out (and yes they are bloody heavy!) is to lift it towards the back seat a bit then tip it so the seat part is facing the B post. Then lift it out base first.

WARNING - if the seat has airbags be extra careful not to drop it! The way I've described lifting the seats out puts the airbags downwards, if you drop the seat and it triggers the air bag you'll suddenly find 30+kg of seat launching itself into the air!

Where I've highlighted 'Here' - if you then put the back upright or a bit forward and then put the seats back to centre on the rails, the seat should lift out as it is with less chance of summat sharp smacking anything.
Just remember to lift with your knees, not with your back - fully electric Omega seats are pretty heavy!

When refitting, you might need Tech 2 to clear the airbag light.

seats removed and replaced with nice leather ones...

However ....

these are heated seats, go the switches with them,   but the switches do not light up and the seats dont heat up??

Any ideas?

Could it be a fuse issue?

Hmmm - there differences in wiring and switch operation between pre- and post- facelift, mini facelift too, I believe.
I know post facelift have different heat seting, but maybe the pre- and mini 'lifts had either on or off (like my old Calibras?)

If the car didn't have arse-warmers fitted from Russelheim, then there could be a fuse and realy (or more) missing.

I'm sure there's some text about it on here somewhere.............

Like Pedro mentioned the Leather Seats you have fit would have had to come from a Facelift for them to function properly..The connections look and fit the same but the wiring is different due to the pre having just on and off for the heated seats and the facelift having variable heat settings..We have just found this out the hard way ..Did your airbag light come on?

yes seats came from a facelift 2002, so should be no problems...

No airbag light doesnt come on,,,,, seat electric height adjusters work ok... just the heated seat switches dont light up and dont heat the seats...

Heaters are plugged in?

Are you sure they worked before they were removed from the other car?
IIRC, there's a few places the wires can snag and break, plus the heater pads can sometimes wear out.

Have you checked the relays?
If yours wasn't fitted with heated seats before, you could well be missing fuses and relays, although the wiring might well be present.

Heated seats now sorted....

after removing the stereo and facia... the heated seats plugs were hiding behind....however one plug had been cut by the police !!

Now mended and my bum...oh yes and she who must be obeyed has a toastie bum too!!
