Interestingly, our new Prime Minister had WA10 DAO as his ministerial car, with Gordon Brown having PF53 GFV.
It's clearly armoured, bullet proof glass etc.
But the most interesting part is the registration, it's clearly just been registered as it's a '10' plate, but it's the X350 model of the XJ.
It's also the pre facelift model, it can't be later than an '07' plate really.
So it must have sat somewehre for a long time unregistered, possibly with MacNeillie or Jaguar themselves.
I pointed this out to a friend, and she just went 'wow' in a sarcastic voice 
Shame it's such a boring colour, it'd look much better in black.

Certainly a lovely looking car, and that number plate rather amused me; it suggests "daddio" to me for some reason, in No10!

I reckon they bought a job lot knowing it would take some time to convert into a full spec. security wrapped vehicle, and expecting  GB to go over two years ago!!

I watched this out of professional interest and I must say it's a fine looking vehicle.

The first protected saloon car I used (and nearly wrote off on the first outing) was a Land crab in that delightful teal colour BL used at the time.  This was one of the first saloon vehicles to be armoured up to be entered into general service and was a pig to drive.

Even though the technical aspects of protecting vehicles in this way have changed tremendously over the years, they remain challenging to drive in anything but a measured fashion.

Their worth however is immeasurable when under attack however, to see and hear rounds striking ballistic glass - when on the other side of it - is a sobering experience. :-/
