« on: 31 May 2010, 21:35:03 »

I have jut brought a mv6 that has been used for 10 miles a day  the engine has no loss of power an it doesnt overpressiures but does stream from the coolant tub and ha milky residue on the dipstick but not on the cap.

my plan was to flush and chang th oil and filter and giive it a good run and se what happens, but can anyone help befor i spend mony on more things i dont realy need

also how much oil does it take to fill these engines and can somebody give me the part number for the filter.

Thanks Daniel

I'd go for the oil & filter first too.  5½-6L oil, the filter will depend if it is spin on or or element change type.  Just pop by a VX main agent if unsure.  Recommened is their semi-syth oil. Don't forget a copper washer or rubber O ring for the sump bolt

There is also a special offer on their 10W-40 oil, you get 4 off 5L bottles for the price of 3, and their plugs are good and fairly cheap as well, and if you buy lots of bits and cultivate the parts dept chap he may give you the stuff at trade price, which is a nice discount.  :y

as its only been used for short runs, i would do an oil change every 500 miles for the next 2k and then go from there, V6 do create a lot of moisture when cold which does really need to get burnt off.

Long blasts, with some quick changes, then go from there  :y
