Autoglass vs Auto Windscreens?
« on: 07 June 2010, 21:00:57 »

So got two rather large cranks in windcreen now, one drivers side about 3/4 inchs long, and second which is making a nice S type shape which goes up about 1/4 of the screen  :-[

According to insurance blurb, can go with either of the above as they are on the 'approved' list.

Are they the same? Worth going for one of the other?  :-/

Some years ago Autoglass put a new screen in my old Omega estate and it was fine so I would recommend them.

Yes, they dropped the RAC bit because they were being recognised as shite.....but they have not moved the depots, changed the staff or changed the search engine results!

Hence....shite, shite, shite, shite, shite,

Autowindscreens were OK down here... Not ideal, but OK. When the rubber trim did finally work loose after about a year I called them up and they re-fitted it under warranty. In fact, I told the guy it wouldn't be the end of the world if the screen broke as he removed it because I had a couple of chips so it was replaced FOC :y

That said... The majority of others on here seem to have had a bad experience so I'd avoid them :y

I had FIVE bad experiences with them.....all due to incompitent fitters, sub standard training and poor quality parts.

Its only when they finaly used genuine parts that it became acceptable (but far from good)
