2nd Quickest sale in all my years
« on: 19 June 2010, 16:34:21 »

Got the XJR delivered at 9 this morning by a friend, made 2 phone calls someone is coming to collect tomorrow for £3700 profit, deposit already paid too, not bad for 7 hours. They haven't even seen pictures yet as I still haven't got my camera back :D Chuffed to say the least.

Quickest was a Peugeot 205 GTi, bought it at 11:00 am, sold it at half 1 the same day :y

[Peachy Mode] This sounds like a forsale bragging thread [/Peachy Mode]

Damn! I wanted a test drive  :D

Thats one healthy profit  :o - Do get bigger returns on the higher value cars it seems, sod all in Omegas now. I know Josh did well with the Rangie he had as well, that was similar purchase price

Always aim to make at least 2k on every car sold which is bought for a value of higher than £7995  :y At least 4k on cars above £14995  :y

Well done Del.
It's not the easiest of times to be selling for a living. I had those two Merc E Class's for ages, but sold them one day after the other and made a good amount on each.
There's always the trade off between amount of profit and turnover.
Small vehicles do invariably sell quicker, but with limited amount of profit, £500 to £600 on each vehicle if you're lucky. If you buy a vehicle for £2000, there's only so much you can make on it.
If you buy a £15k plus vehicle you have much more scope but it takes longer to sell.
I'd say quite a few people have a few thousand either spare of could get hold of to buy a car, but when it comes to £15,000 people have to think a bit more. If you earn £30k p/a then spending half your wage on a vehicle is a big decision.

But, well done Del...I'll happily borrow some of your luck  :D

Great news on the Mercs going Josh, about time they were shifted.

If you need a delivery driver from London, you know who to PM  :y

Exactly  :y I do try to keep values below £15,000 purley because things start hanging around for a lot longer than I like  :y

With my shift structure that can work out well as i can do mid-week deliveries  :y

I'd do it for nowt, especially if I am delivering XJR's  8-)

I might re-set the fuel consumption though before it reaches one of your customers  ::)  ;D

That's a very kind offer Tunnie, I certainly appreciate that. I've got a '57' Range Rover TDV8 Vogue SE you can borrow for the day if you like? It's in having stone chips and bits and pieces all sorted...but you'd be more than welcome to have a go in that.

You'd have to take some cash mate whatever car you were delivering  :y A 57 plate 535d M Sport should be next  :y
