DIY LPG Converted vehicle explodes
« on: 18 June 2010, 12:38:04 »

Article is a few months old, but still:

A car exploded yesterday at a gas station near The Ericsson Globe Arenas in Stockholm.

The car was standing at a pump when the explosion occurred.

One person became unconscious and is seriously injured.

Another person has received shrapnel injuries but is conscious.

The damage to the car is complete.

"That something like this happens is extremely rare," said chief fire officer Mikael Lundh.

The reason for the explosion was that the car had illegally been modified to run on LPG, but the driver tried to fill it with ordinary vehicle gas. (SVT/DN)

Unsure how CNG could be put into an LPG tank, would have thought the connections would be different....

No surprise, it was in the winter, they old go slightly mad due to the lack of light and short days over there around that sort of time.

Hence why the booze duty is so high
